Holiday MIDI Collection

(I'll admit that it's not the best possible correlation, but I'm too lazy to upload
a holiday banner. Just think of it in terms of the red and green uniforms,
and its tendency to put one in mind of the cold.)

Is this an unneeded tangent? Yes. Is it relevant to the NES? Not particularly. Is it what you seek on this site? Probably not.

Why then, you ask, have I posted this collection?

Not usually what one would call an "outgoing" person, I have always felt an inexplicable sense of unity with all people during this one remarkable month. While this does not completely erase my introversion, it does afford me a remarkably happy outlook. This, in turn, makes all the hilarious seasonal tribulations -- the frantic search for one gift or another, the loud hammering of a metal stand into the trunk of a Christmas tree, the tree-topper that hasn't worked properly in umpteen years, the tangled mass of lights -- not only worthwhile, but as fun as any other experience that comes to mind (with the exception of playing the NES, of course.)

That in mind, I have long wanted to share with the visitors of my site the unabashed love I have for this season (in part because I find it comparable to my love of the NES.) Now that the season has, in accord with tradition, begun, I have moved to put that desire to practice by uploading a variety of seasonal MIDIs. Please enjoy them, and this marvelous time -- so befittingly termed "the most wonderful time of the year."

Also, one or another of these MIDIs will grace the front page until the first update of 1999.

NOTE: Consummately obsessive about being politically correct, I am somewhat worried that this gesture will offend the non-Christian individuals who view it (and if it doesn't, I also worry that the idea that I think they would be offended by such a gesture will.) I aim to be as ecumenical as possible, but I simply can't find any Chanukah MIDIs. Sorry.
